Is the Real Estate market changing?

Every other Thursday is the day that all the Real Estate associates in my office meet to discuss our local market conditions. As a whole, we are finding that the market is slowing down quite a bit. Homes for sale are sitting on the market for longer periods of time and buyer requested showings are days apart instead of a revolving door the day it hits the market.

I knew it was only a matter of time before the market had to take a step back and breathe. This may not be what the seller's want to see or hear but for buyer's it's a good thing. We were getting to the point where first time home buyer's were being pushed out of the market. Now with this slow down, buyer's may again have a chance to buy their first home and get out of the rental trap.

What goes up must come down as the saying goes. The Real Estate market had been going up faster than expected for the last two years. Now it looks like it's heading for a dip in the road.
