My Orchids

I was so excited to see that my orchids are beginning to bloom. I rescued them from the back yard of a person that was not taking care of them. Seems she would buy a pretty orchid at the store; after the flowers dropped off she would just toss the plant into the back yard.

I collected them all, took them out of their overgrown pots, cut off all the dead roots, split some of them and pretty much made new ones. It's been about a month and a half in their new pots with fresh wood chips and fertilizer, and plenty of humidity and moisture.

The fruits of my labor are beginning to show. I had a few of them open up over the long 4th of July Holiday weekend.
